Autostart
Autostart refers to the Windows® process that occurs when you start or restart your computer. If you are experiencing computer issues, such as slow start up or a noticeable lag when switching between programs, you should delete any unnecessary application from autostart.
Windows® allows programs to configure themselves to run in the background so that they appear to start quickly when needed. Some of these autostart programs show an icon on your taskbar to let you know that they're running, while others are completely hidden. These autostart programs probably won't noticeably slow down your computer as it starts up, but they will steal away trace amounts of memory and processing time as your computer runs.
Use TuneUp Utilities and the included StartUp Optimizer and Startup Manager to configure your autostart to improve your computer's performance. StartUp Optimizer jump starts your PC by identifying unnecessary autostart programs and services, as well as incorrect system settings. TuneUp Startup Manager as well detects and helps you eliminate unwanted programs in autostart that use up resources and slow things down to a crawl. Test the free TuneUp Utilities 2012 download right now and clean up your Windows autostart for more performance.
